Doogee announces 5.5-inch Y100 Plus smartphone
Doogee has no shortage of available smartphones at inexpensive prices. The Chinese manufacturer is betting on the recent Y100 series to make a splash in the budget smartphone for users wanting decent smartphones for less than $150.
Today, Doogee is adding yet another Y100 device to its lineup called the Y100 Plus. The Y100 Plus joins the existing Y100 and Y100 Pro, but will instead carry a higher-capacity 3000 mAh battery pack. This is compared to the 2200 mAh battery packs in both the Y100 and Y100 Pro.
The battery update is a much needed upgrade based on our own battery tests with the Y100. WLAN runtime falls just short of 6 hours on a full charge, so a nearly 40 percent increase in capacity should extend runtimes that much more effectively.
The Y100 Plus carries the same chassis and specifications as the Y100 Pro including the 5.5-inch 720p display, MediaTek MT6735 SoC, 2 GB RAM, and 16 GB eMMC. Our full review on the Y100 Pro is coming this week. The Y100 Plus edition is coming this September for $125.
