Developer shares image that visualizes the rumored iPhone 14 Pro punch hole camera cutout on current iPhones ↺
Notches and front camera cutouts in general may be one of the most controversial smartphone design trends of the past few years. While many smartphone users do not necessarily seem to care about the big black top bar that has been featured in almost every new iPhone since 2017, others may consider a smaller circular camera cutout to be the more elegant solution.
We just recently reported on corresponding rumors and leaked display panel designs which claim that the Apple iPhone 14 Pro will no longer be equipped with a notch, but a pill-shaped punch hole cutout for the front camera as well as a reflective under-display Face ID module. The developer Jeff Grossman has now published a picture that shows how this rumored design of the iPhone 14 Pro might look in practice.
If you already own a modern Apple smartphone with narrow display bezels like the iPhone 12 (from US$640 on Amazon), the developer has also shared an image which allows you to visualize or rather simulate the punch-hole design of the iPhone 14 Pro on your current smartphone. All you have to do is open the photo in full-screen mode while holding the iPhone upside down. The resulting illusion may not be perfect, but it is a very easy way to find out how the pill-shaped punch hole camera cutout of Apple's iPhone 14 Pro might look like in comparison to a notch.
