Dell is currently launching its latest UltraSharp monitors for home-office and prosumer use. The OEM also now unveils the SB521A, touted as the "world's lightest and slimmest soundbar". This accessory can snap onto a monitor from its own brand with its top-mounted magnets, thus immediately adding 3.6W RMS audio power to the display in question.

Dell has launched its new UltraSharp and P-series monitors today (October 6, 2020). Its latest audio product has been designed as the perfect companion to some of them. This Slim Soundbar (model number: SB521A) has a built-in magnetic system that allows it to snap directly onto the underside of such a peripheral. With a 298 mm x 18 mm x 24 mm (11.73 inches x 0.71 inches x 0.95 inches) footprint, it should fit there effectively.

Its maker appears confident that this is the ideal vantage point for the Slim Soundbar's 3.6W RMS speaker, rated for a 180Hz - 20kHz frequency response range. It connects via USB (type A, however misfortunately; maybe the next generation can be type C instead), which, as Dell claims, confers a hassle-free plug-and-play interface with effective cable management for its compatible monitors.

On that note, the Slim Soundbar has been designed to pair to the U2421E, P2721Q, P3221D and P3421W monitors in this manner. It is also intended to stay in place relative to these devices with a buillt-in security chain. Dell will release pricing and availability info for this new accessory in the near future.
