Dell has unveiled a refreshed version of its Alienware m17 R3 gaming laptop. It bumps up the refresh rate of its 17-inch FHD panel from 300Hz to 360Hz. There are also some improvements to the notebook's cooling system. However, Dell will reveal the laptop's price and availability later this month.

Dell has launched a new variant of its Alienware m17 R3 gaming laptop. However, the upgrade isn't nearly as significant as the one Dell's Aurora gaming desktops get. Most of its innards remain the same, but there is enough of an upgrade to justify an entirely new SKU.

Previous iterations of the Alienware m17 R3 gaming laptop had their refresh rate max out at 300Hz at 1080p. The refresh cranks that up to 360Hz (3ms response time), presumably to keep it on par with the equally-specced Alienware Area-51 R2 model. The Alienware M7 R3's hardware maxes out at the Intel Core i9-10980HK and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super. No RTX 3000 series GPUs for now, unfortunately. Similarly, RAM and storage options max out at 32GB and 4TB, respectively. You'll need all the computing power you can get to hit the 360fps mark in most games. Dell also says that it has improved its Alienware Cryotech cooling technology to keep temperatures in check.

Dell is yet to divulge the refreshed Alienware m17 R3 gaming laptop's price. Prima facie, only the display seems to have received an upgrade, so the price increase shouldn't be a whole lot. The company says that it will tell us more about the laptop in the coming weeks.
