Reasons to buy the Dell XPS 15 are many. It’s a refreshing update to Dell’s premier laptop range, combining features and options that are hard to find in many other mainstream laptops. A full-HD screen, USB 3.0 ports, Nvidia 3D TV Play, very good onboard sound, striking looks and features -- all this at a not quite insanely high price. If you’re looking for a very good desktop replacement laptop at the Rs. 50,000 mark, make sure you check out the new Dell XPS 15.
workmanship, equipment and display resolution are good but the weight is high

NVIDIA GeForce GT 435M: GF108 based mid-range graphics card with DX11 support.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
840QM: The Core i7-840QM is a high-end quad core CPU for laptops that clocks due to the Turbo Mode from 1.86-3.2 GHz. Therefore, the processor combines the advantages of fast single core CPUs and slow quad-core CPUs. Hyperthreading allows the simultaneous use of 8 Threads in parallel. » Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
15.6": 15 inch display-variants are the standard and are used for more than the half of all notebooks. 15.4 inch display with 16:10 are the standard for notebook displays. However nowadays, more and more 16:9 displays with 15.6 inch appear. The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much energy and the laptops can be kept quite compact.» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
2.86 kg: This weight is average for notebooks. Therefore the numerous mass of laptops with 15 inch display fits in this class of weight.
Dell: Dell Inc. is a multinational technology corporation that develops, manufactures, sells, and supports personal computers and other computer-related products. Based in Texas, Dell employs more than 82,700 people worldwide (2009). In 2006, Dell purchased the computer hardware manufacturer Alienware. In most countries, the laptops are directly sold to consumers by Dell and each notebook custom-assembled according to a selection of options. Market share regarding sales of personal computers in 2007 (market research IDC): HP 18.9 %, Dell 16.4 %, Acer 9.9 %, Lenovo 7.5 %, Apple 5.7 %
83.8%: This rating is to be considered as average, because the amount of notebooks with better ratings is about equal like the amount with worse ratings.
