87.4% Dell Latitude 13 7370 Ultrabook Review | Notebookcheck
The sound of silence. With a frameless InfinityEdge display, Core-m processors and passive cooling, the Latitude 13 7370 is Dell's new interpretation of a classic business notebook. A promising concept – but the execution is not flawless.
80% Review: Dell Latitude 13 7370

The Dell Latitude 13 7370 isn’t without rivals. HP’s EliteBook Folio 1020 was stratospherically expensive when it first launched, but has since dropped in price to the extent that you can find it for significantly less than Dell is charging for its machine. Then there’s the Dell XPS 13. Several folk in the office have an XPS 13 as their business laptop, and as long as you can live without the security options of the 13 7370, it’s a cheaper, more powerful alternative.

It's hard to not fall in love with the Dell Latitude 13 7370, at least not until you see the price tag. It's incredibly light and small for a 13.3" Ultrabook, and it's darned good looking. Materials, fit and finish are top notch and the Infinity display options are both very good looking and light on glare.

Dell's Latitude 13 7370 is, in many ways, an excellent laptop. It presents a good-quality 13in display in a light 12in form factor, it's robust and well built throughout, the keyboard and trackpad are excellent, there's zero noise to contend with, port selection includes dual Thunderbolt, performance in everyday scenarios feels suitably swift, and it's backed by a comprehensive three-year warranty.

90% Slim, sleek and silently great
Source: Tech Advisor English Archive.org version
It’s a business laptop, there’s no escaping that. But our time with the Dell Latitude 13 7370 was great - it’s probably the most accessible business laptop out there, with a form factor that everyone can get along with. If you are a small business owner and you need a laptop to hook up to a monitor in your home office but also take on a business trip and not need a plug all day, then this is one of the computers you should be considering. You might not even need or want another laptop for personal use either, which goes a long way to justifying the high price.

Blending the performance you need with the profile you want is a challenge for all PC manufacturers, and it's not one Dell has completely met with the Latitude 13 7000 (7370). You get the muted upscale looks, of course, and the overall styling and especially the screen provide little to complain about. But more speed and better battery life would help soften the blow of 7370's high price—and you don't get either. Thin and visually pleasing though the 7370 may be, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon, our Editors' Choice, offers considerably better value in what's still a pretty compact package.

The Latitude 7370 is an attractive and well-designed laptop that is well suited for business users with modest computing requirements. It offers security features that are not available in many consumer laptops, such as a fingerprint and smartcard reader, as well as the latest wired and wireless connectivity options.

Dell Latitude 13 7370 Review
Source: Laptop Reviews English Archive.org version
The Dell Latitude 13 7370 is the latest competitor in a field of business laptop. It’s durable and secure, and sports an excellent InfinityEdge display. Unfortunately, the performance of the Core M isn’t pleasing, and the battery life is not that good if you chose the QHD screen. Also, considering all the aspects, the laptop is kind of overpriced. Of course, there are faster, better and cheaper business laptops available nowadays. But, if you’re seeking a well built, compact laptop that packs enterprise features and enough horsepower to use it as a business laptop, the Latitude 13 7370 is surely the only choice right now.

80% Dell Latitude 13 7370 Ultrabook Review
Source: Kitguru English Archive.org version
It is incredibly well designed, with a beautifully slim carbon fibre body, measuring barely 14mm thick. The display is also stunningly sharp, while the laptop’s bezel is very, very thin. As an Ultrabook, the Latitude 7370 also crams in many of the latest features you would expect – 2 Thunderbolt Type C ports, for instance, as well as the speedy PCIe SSD. The Core m5-6Y57 is also passively cooled, which means the laptop is completely silent at all times, something which I value highly.

Whether you call it the Latitude 7370 or Latitude 13 7000, we're left wondering what to make of it. It's delightfully light and easy to carry, and the look-Ma-no-bezels high-res touch screen is state of the art. We think Dell's XPS 13 could benefit by borrowing its keyboard (PgUp and PgDn forever!) and mouse buttons, too.

A Sleek Business-Class Ultrabook
Source: Hot Hardware English Archive.org version
We suspect that many business travelers will like the Latitude 13 7370. The machine has enough power to handle typical business tasks, it is extremely portable, good looking, and it has the security features to meet the IT department’s requirements. The ultrabook’s chassis is a homerun too. It’s surprisingly sturdy, both when flat and when the lid is open.

There’s a lot to like about the Dell Latitude 13 7370, from its stunning design to its brilliantly tactile and responsive keyboard. However, when its display and performance just don’t match up to the vastly superior and cheaper XPS 13, it feels like business users are getting a pretty raw deal for the Latitude’s additional security features, three-year ProSupport and next business day on-site service.

The concept of a “business” PC is vague. In theory, such systems go beyond the norms of a typical consumer laptop. In truth, the line between home and work is vague – and the Latitude 13 7370 is proof of that. Though not identical to the XPS 13, this Latitude takes inspiration from it. Its similarities in size and weight are too small to matter to even the most discerning user.

The Dell Latitude 7370 is not without rivals. HP’s Elitebook Folio 1020 was stratospherically expensive when it first launched, but has since dropped dramatically in price, not least due to the arrival of its successor, the Folio G1, and it has the measure of the Dell in several departments. Search around a little and you’ll be able to find the 1020 for significantly less than the Latitude 7370.

It's disappointing then, that the Latitude is powered by a processor more accustomed to value (and fashion) laptops and tablets. It's not like the Latitude is too thin to slip in full Core-series processors, which are already offered in the slimmer XPS 13. It results in an unnecessary compromise, and one that restricts the Latitude to being a fancy portable laptop designed for lightweight tasks rather than one that business users can depend on in any situation.

Model: As ultrabooks progress towards fan-less concepts, manufacturers are given more latitude to build slimmer and slicker notebooks. This is evident with Dell’s Latitude 13 7370. Chunkiness no longer defines worthiness as business notebooks are now built to impress both in looks and performance. It is hard not to be blown away by the slim construction of the Latitude 13. It is even harder to believe it is actually a business notebook. Its dimensions measure at 14.32 x 304.8 x 210.5 mm and it weighs merely 1.12 kg. Robustness is not compromised despite its slim profile as its full carbon fibre chassis is solid and stable. Performance-wise, it is powered by the power efficient Intel Core m5-6Y57 1.1 GHz processor with Intel HD Graphics 515 video card on board. One might wonder the choice of processor considering that it is a business notebook. This is again attributable to the option of retaining a fan-less model and thus the Intel's Core-m series is adopted due its capacity to cool passively. Its 13.3-inch FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS InfinityEdge display is incredibly appealing. Dell’s attempt in keeping the screen almost bezel-free succeeds in maximizing viewing angles and clarity. Its unique hinge allows the screen to bend back a full 180 degrees.

Memory options range between 4 GB up to 8 GB of RAM, and storage is available in form of a 128 GB SATA Solid State Drive. Network connectivity is supported by 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. Sound quality is crisp and clear. Connectivity is aplenty on this machine as it comes equipped with two Thunderbolt 3 ports. Not only are they a lot faster, but they are also much more versatile for they support USB devices and the corresponding Type-C jack as well as DisplayPort (two 4K monitors at 60 Hz per port, up to three monitors in total), DVI, HDMI, VGA or external PCIe-devices via adapter. The Latitude 13 is also equipped with a standard USB 3.0 port, a microHDMI port as well as a headphone jack. For maximum security, a fast touch fingerprint scanner is on board. Arguably, the included 34 Wh battery is small for a business notebook. Its runtime remains remarkable thanks to its efficient hardware. The precision touchpad with multi-touch control is wide and sensitive. The keyboard bundled together is spill resistant and illuminated for use under dim environments. It comes pre-installed with Windows 10 Pro. With its price factor, users may be tempted to opt for more powerful processors. Nevertheless, the Latitude 13 is still a business ultrabook to look out for.

13.30":

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.

The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.

Dell: Dell is a U.S. manufacturer (based in Texas) of computer hardware founded in 1984 and is one of the largest international manufacturers in terms of both market share and notebook models. Its product line includes desktops, notebooks, storage systems, monitors, servers, printers, consumer electronics and peripherals. Dell offers laptops that are suitable for various applications, such as business laptops, gaming laptops, ultra portables and workstations. Dell's business laptops from the Latitude and Precision series are an option for professional users and businesses.

In 2023, Dell had an approximate 17% market share of global PC sales, ranking #3 after Lenovo and HP.

For gaming enthusiasts, Dell's Alienware brand is for gaming notebooks.

72.76%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
