Reviews for the Datawind Ubisurfer

40% Datawind Ubisurfer

Netbooks – mini-notebook PCs that are easily portable – can be great but even they can sometimes feel a little large. The Datawind Ubisurfer is a mobile internet device that is smaller than a netbook but still manages to fit in a keyboard and a reasonably large screen.
Does the job it claims to, but there’s really no point to it

Poorly made hardware and sluggish performance get in the way of what could have been a great value internet device

Small enough to carry with you everywhere and coming with a year's free internet access, the Datawind Ubisurfer promises to be the ultimate netbook. But technology enthusiasts are likely to find it extremely frustrating. We’re not technology snobs – there is a market for a low-end netbook that provides access to the web and little else for £160, particularly given that 12 months of internet access is provided as part of the deal. But the Ubisurfer makes too many sacrifices at this stage for us to recommend it.

7.00":

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

Datawind: Datawind Ltd. is a developer of wireless web access products and services and the related web delivery platform. Ubisurfer is their laptop brand. These laptops are bundled with mobile internet.

47.5%: This rating is bad and very rare. There are only a few models that are rated so poorly. If the source is reputable, then a purchase is probably not advisable.
