Cyberpunk 2077 runs better on iPhones and iPads than it does on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One
Google Stadia is now available on iPhone and iPad, as we have reported. The streaming service is only playable via a Progressive Web App (PWA), but it does bring the Stadia library to iOS devices. According to 9to5Google, the PWA supports PlayStation 4 and Xbox One controllers, along with the official Stadia controller.
Funnily enough, Stadia PWA for iOS devices runs Cyberpunk 2077 better than the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One can. The triple-A title runs mostly at 720p on the two last-generation consoles, but iPhones and iPads can maintain 1080p with a good internet connection. Moreover, Cyberpunk 2077 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One regularly drop below 20 FPS in complex environments, bordering on an unplayable experience.
By contrast, the Stadia PWA version runs at a stable 60 FPS on iOS devices, according to 9to5Google. There should be no jarring pop-in textures, which currently plague last-generation consoles, on the Stadia PWA version either. Android devices have an advantage over iOS ones, though. Stadia can run Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K on compatible devices, but Apple is yet to release any 4K iOS devices. Hence, 1080p is the maximum resolution in which one can play Cyberpunk 2077 on an iPad or iPhone.
