CyberPowerPC has announced in a press release that it is launching a new gaming laptop, called FangBook X7 that is part of the company’s latest Fang Series of high-performance portable PC aimed at gamers. According to the manufacturer, the X7 is a “blazingly fast, terrifyingly powerful, and absolutely unique gaming notebook” that is based on Intel's HM77 Express Chipset and comes with a pre-installed Windows 8 64-bit operating system. Users will be able to choose among three different models (FangBook X7-100, FangBook X7-200 and the FangBook X7-300) priced at $1,299 and up.

Featuring a unique design and an illuminated keyboard in fiery red, the FangBook is powered by a third generation Quad-Core Intel Core i7-3630QM central processing unit running at 2.4GHz – 3.4GHz, but users can purchase the device (for an additional $956) with up to a 3GHz Intel Core i7-3940XM Extreme Edition chip. Furthermore, the speedy CPU is complemented by a 17.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen anti-glare display with a native resolution of 1920-by-1080 pixels and a built-in 720p web camera for video calls.

The dedicated product page indicates that the X7 packs an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M DX11.1 GPU that is based on the Kepler architecture and offers 4GB of GDDR5 VRAM (you can check out our “Computer Games on Laptop Graphic Cards” benchmark list to see the 680M’s gaming performance). In addition, the powerful laptop comes with up to 32GB of 1600MHz DDR3 Corsair Vengeance memory, a hard drive with 1TB of storage capacity and a 64GB SATAIII SSD. CyberPowerPC claims that the FangBook can also be ordered with two mSATA SSDs in Ultra RAID (0) configuration for speeds of over 900MB/s.

Other features presumably include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth adapters, NVIDIA’s Optimus technology, DVD Burner or a Blu-ray Combo drive, HDMI and USB 3.0 connectivity, and two integrated stereo speakers.
