The Creative ZiiO 7 tablet which we have previously talked about had hit the FCC early this month, as reported. And now, finally the 7-inch Android tablet from Creative has started shipping for US consumers.
Talking of the hardware, the ZiiO 7 has a 7-inch 480 x 800 resistive-touch screen with support for up to 720p video playback and is powered by the ZiiLABS ZMS-08 processor. It also has under the hood 8GB or 16GB of internal storage expandable via a micro SD card slot, 802.11b/g wireless, Bluetooth, and a front-facing VGA camera. Amongst other standard features, the tablet has an HDMI port, x-Fi audio technology, stereo speakers, mic, a mini-USB port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. What’s more, you also get a digital pen bundled with the tablet. The Creative ZiiO 7 tablet runs on the Android 2.1 OS. Although the absence of the Android Market will hurt, you still have the Creative ZiiStore to compensate for it.
The tablet scores good in the design sector too and is light-weight, weighing just 0.9 pounds. As far as pricing is concerned, the 16GB version of the ZiiO 7 tablet is shipping from Amazon at a price of $269.99, while the 8GB version can be yours for $249.99.
