Bluboo Dual will be one of the cheapest smartphones with dual rear cameras
Features like USB Type-C, unibody aluminum housing, or fingerprint sensors were normally associated with higher-end smartphones when they first became available to the consumer. Dual cameras are the latest trending feature for flagship models, but Chinese smartphone manufacturers are already incorporating them onto sub $200 USD offerings.
The Bluboo Dual will be an extremely affordable smartphone with two rear cameras. This gives the Dual many of the same features as its pricier alternatives including unique depth-of-field effects and improved image quality. The two rear cameras are not identical, however, as one will be the primary 13 MP f/2.0 Sony IMX135 camera while the other is a 2 MP sensor for capturing depth.
Core specifications are otherwise impressive considering the price:
- 5.5-inch FHD display
- 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK6737T SoC (ARM Cortex-A53)
- 2 GB RAM
- 16 GB eMMC w/ MicroSD support up to 256 GB
- Dual-SIM (secondary shared with MicroSD)
- Aluminum chassis
- Rear fingerprint reader
- Micro-USB port w/ OTG
- Android 6.0 Marshmallow
The Dual is set to launch before the end of the year for $150 USD. Bluboo is currently running a pre-sale event for early buyers to purchase the Dual for just $130 USD or even $115 USD until December 18th.
