BenQ to launch new Tablets this year

Teaser
3G enabled devices should launch sometime in 2011

While BenQ’s first tablet was only released this February, the Taiwanese manufacturer is wasting no time in readying their upcoming tablets. According to sources, the company will be releasing a 7” model and a 10.1” model sometime this year.

While BenQ’s first tablet was aimed at budget markets, its underwhelming specs didn’t help it achieve much spotlight. Released February 15th in Asian markets, the nReader R100 features a 10.1” resistive touchscreen, a 667 MHz Samsung processor, 8GB of storage, Wi-Fi, 3G, and Android 2.2.

On one hand, BenQ’s first tablet was a low-key device, however, there is no current information as to whether or not BenQ’s second attempt will be more powerful (although it’ll be hard not to outperform the R100). The only word on the 3G enabled 7” and 10.1” tablets is that they should be released sometime this year. Subsequently, we’re going to have to wait and see whether the new devices can make a splash where the R100 couldn’t.
