Asus to launch Eee PC 1015PW netbook

Teaser
The newbie from Asus is all about the visually attractive exteriors while it’s nothing more than a Eee PC 1015PEM from the inside

With Asus’ vast range of portable and ultraportable computers already catering well to consumers, the Taiwanese major has now decided to add yet another product to their successful Eee PC range- the 10-inch Eee PC 1015PW netbook.

The Eee PC 1015PW cannot be termed a brand-new product concept as it is just a variant of the existing Eee PC 1015PEM which got a processor upgrade not long ago. And so, the Eee PC 1015PW also gets a dual core 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 chip with integrated graphics and a 1024 x 600 pixel 10-inch display. In addition, the netbook will get 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, a webcam with camera cover, card reader and the option of either a 250GB or 320GB hard drive.

The major differentiator between both the named models is actually the exterior design, which features all-new paints as “Purple Rain,” Gold Dust,” and “Angel Skin”. With these paint jobs, the lid also features a wavy design, thus adding to the visual impact for which the netbook is aimed at selling for. What’s more, the netbook also boasts of an impressive 10 hours of battery backup. All in all, the Eee PC 1015PW seems to be a pretty attractive package and is definitely a device to lay your hands on and flaunt style. The extra money won’t be as much of a distraction to you as your netbook to the crowd.

Although the pricing and availability are not known, expect Asus to position it as a premium netbook initially.
