True to its name, the handset packs a 13 MP front camera aimed at selfie enthusiasts.

In addition to the ZenPad tablets and the ZenWatch 2 unveiled today at the Computex exhibition in Taipei, Asus has also shown us a new smartphone, the ZenFone Selfie. As its name reveals, this device is primarily meant for buyers addicted to selfies: it features a 13 MP front camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 88° shooting angle. There's also a mode that expands it to 140° for group selfies. The ZenUI Beautification mode allows to improve the pictures after taking them through a variety of effects such as skin color enhancement or softening of facial features.

A 13 MP camera is also found on the back of the smartphone, though its features are even more advanced: its aperture is larger at f/2.0 and a dual LED flash is installed. Moreover, its autofocus is laser-assisted and therefore should be much more accurate.

Apart from the cameras, the ZenFone Selfie is a midrange smartphone. It is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 SoC (includes Adreno 405 graphics) and a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920x1080 pixels) IPS display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Unfortunately, Asus has not disclosed any availability or pricing details yet - we will update our readers once this information becomes available.
