Soon after the unveiling of the Zenfone 2 family, Asus reveals high expectations - no less than 30 million smartphones sold by the end of 2015.

Asus has not been a top smartphone maker in terms of sales for a long period, but now it seems their future is really bright. Soon after releasing the Zenfone 2 family and for the second time during the last month, the Taiwanese company decided to raise its annual shipment target for smartphones.

According to Asustek Computer Inc. Chairman Jonney Shih, the Chinese market is expected to account for no less than 10 million units during 2015 - one third of the company's smartphone shipments for the entire year. Focus Taiwan also reveals that an impressive amount of 389 million smartphones reached China in 2014.

The company's performance last year was impressive, with a jump from only 10,000 units a month during the first quarter all the way up to 1.5 million units in the holiday season quarter. This year, Asus already shipped more than 10 million smartphones already, but the Zenfone 2 still has to reach Hong Kong, Russia, Japan, Singapore, India, Indonesia, as well as the United States.
