60% Asus X54H review
Source: Techradar English
Asus has recently been focusing on tablets and smartphones, but its bread-and-butter products are still laptops. The Asus X54H is an entry-level machine with a dual-core processor and several features that make it worth a look.

75% Review Asus X54HR-SO060V Notebook | Notebookcheck
Money pinching. Asus primarily focuses on the price in the X54HR-SO060V. Great equipment or high performance isn't possible for just under EUR 480. Is the 15 inch multimedia notebook, equipped with AMD's newest Radeon HD 7470M, nevertheless a good alternative for smart savers?

Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) HD Graphics: Onboard graphics card that is built in the new Arrandale CPUs (Core i3 / i5 / i7 Dual Cores). Depending on the model and Turbo Boost, the GMA HD is clocked between 166 and 766 MHz.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

AMD Radeon HD 7470M: Based on the old Seymore XT chip and therefore a renamed version of the Radeon HD 6490M (perhaps with slightly changed clock rates).

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

Intel Pentium:

B950:

Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. Due to the Pentium brand, many features of the Sandy Bridge core are deactivated.

Intel Core i3:

2350M:

Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.3 GHz and features the Turbo Boost 2.0 only for the graphics card.

Intel Celeron:

B815:

Entry level dual core processor for laptops with integrated graphics card (faster compared to the similar Celeron B810) and reduced features of the Sandy Bridge core (no Turbo Boost, AES, ...).

15.6: 15 inch display-variants are the standard and are used for more than the half of all notebooks. 15.4 inch display with 16:10 are the standard for notebook displays. However nowadays, more and more 16:9 displays with 15.6 inch appear. The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much energy and the laptops can be kept quite compact.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

2.3 kg:

These sub-notebooks weight less than the average of all notebooks, but represent a heavier class of weight among the sub-notebooks. 13 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.

2.6 kg:

This notebook is lighter than the average of all notebooks. It is too heavy for sub-notebooks. 14 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.

67.25%: This rating is bad. Most notebooks are better rated. This is not a recommendation for purchase.
