Buying a budget laptop often means cutting corners, so let's take a look at the Asus K60IJ-RBLX05. With a 16-inch screen and a 320GB hard drive, it costs just $499. That sounds, right off the bat, like a good deal. So where are the drawbacks? Although the Asus K60IJ-RBLX05 is an affordable 16-inch budget laptop, it's missing the processing punch and features that can be had for just a little more money.

The Asus K60I-RBBBR05 is among a group of $500 laptops at Best Buy vying for your attention. The Asus K60I-RBBBR05 is a well-built budget laptop with enough power for most mainstream users. It has a decent battery life, a huge hard drive, and roomy 16-inch display. You get a lot for your money, but buyers will have to wade through a sea of bloatware.

Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500M: The graphics core of the Intel GL40 and GS40 chipset features a slower clocked GMA 4500MHD (400 versus 533 MHz). Because of the slower core speed, full Blu-Ray Logo support is not given and the gaming performance is a bit worse.

Intel Pentium Dual Core: The return of the name Pentium, though it is a Yonah core. In fact, it is a double Core processor with a very good relation of performance to current consumption.

T4300:

Entry - middle class dual core CPU with 1 MB level 2 cache and no virtualization technology. Compared to the Core 2 Duo line, some power saving mechanism are deactivated.

16.0: 16 inch display-variants exist since 2008 and partially got the market share of 15 inch notebooks. The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much energy and the laptops can be kept quite compact.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

2.6 kg:

This notebook is lighter than the average of all notebooks. It is too heavy for sub-notebooks. 14 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.

2.6 kg:

66.5%: This rating is bad. Most notebooks are better rated. This is not a recommendation for purchase.
