Facebook announcement reveals that Archos’s ultra-thin tablet will be launching in 3 weeks

Archos first announced their G10 XS (or Gen 10) tablet at a March event in Paris, where they showed off an ultra-thin device that reportedly took 3 years of research and development. Now, in an announcement on their Facebook page, Archos has revealed that the Gen 10 tablet is coming soon, with an official launch announcement expected in 3 weeks.

Not much is known about Archos’s latest offering, as the company has been pretty secretive and no new specs were announced. For the time being, we know that the 10.1” tablet comes in at 7.6mm thick, runs Android Ice Cream Sandwich and attaches to a keyboard dock just like the Transformer Prime. In addition, the device recently made a stop at the FCC, where micro-USB, micro-SD and mini-HDMI functionalities were discovered.

There is no word yet on the different models available or any pricing schemes, but all that info should be forthcoming once the Gen 10 officially launches later this month.
