Archos is back in the limelight again with its brand-new new Archos 70 Internet tablet orders for which have started. This comes after its previous release which was the 4.3-inch Archos 43 tablet.

Specifications

The Archos 70 Internet tablet sports a much larger 7-inch display than its precursor i.e. the Archos 43 Internet tablet. The new tablet that runs Google Android 2.2 has an 800 x 480 pixel capacitive multitouch display. Like the Achos 43, the Archos 70 comes with a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, a G-sensor, a front facing VGA camera and support for audio and video codecs, along with support for 720p HD video playback. Connectivity is ensured on behalf of 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1.

Battery

As per the company’s claims, the Archos 70 Internet tablet promises battery life of upto a good 10 hours during an activity such as web surfing. Also you can easily manage to keep it going for 7 hours while watching videos or movies and the figure goes upto a nice 36 hours for when you are just listening to music with no other ongoing activity with the tablet.

Price

The Archos 70 Internet tablet is now available from the Archos store priced at $275 for a model with 8GB of solid state storage and a microSD card slot for expansion. However, if you are willing to wait, the model with a 250GB hard drive will be available soon for $350.
