Archos’ 13.3-inch FamilyPad 2 coming soon
Archos has taken to Facebook to announce the release of its FamilyPad 2. The company is focusing on the tablet’s family/sharing aspect, as its large screen is suitable for multi-player games, sharing movies or even using as a standalone calender. Presumably to drive the point home, the stand is actually included in the box.
The 13.3-inch FamilyPad 2 will not be breaking any pixel-density records at a resolution of 1280x800. Housed in aluminium the tablet is powered by ARM’s 1.6 GHz Dual-core A9 CPU and quad-core Mali 400 MP4 GPU. Other specs include 1GB RAM, 8GB storage capacity and microSD for up to an extra 64GB. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and even has a mini-HDMI connector, though the cable is not included.
Unfortunately there’s no press-release, so all we know is that the FamilyPad 2 will be available “very soon” at 299€ (possibly hinting at a European launch only, for now).
A bit over a week ago Archos also announced the full range of its Titanium Series to be available for purchase at the company’s EU web-store. All tablets in the series come with an IPS screen and are priced from 119.99 € to 249.99 €. Check out the Archos 97 Titanium HD review here.
