Apple schedules event for September 10th

Teaser
Apple sends out invites for an event next Tuesday, where the next generation of iPhones are expected to be unveiled.

With rumors of the next generation of iPhones flying from every corner over the past few weeks, it's about time that Apple made things official. The company today sent out emails to members of the press, informing them of an event scheduled at the Apple campus in Cupertino on the 7th of September.

The company's last product launch took place at WWDC in June, where iOS 7 and the new Haswell MacBook Air were unveiled, and this upcoming event will likely revolve around the iPhone. The iPhone 5S is expected to take center stage, where it will succeed the iPhone 5 and rumors have mentioned the possibility of a fingerprint sensor and a new gold variant.

Of course, this time around Apple has another iPhone up their sleeve, and the new iPhone 5C could add a budget option to Apple's line of phones. The 5C is expected to feature a plastic design with a variety of color options, and the background of Apple's invite definitely aids that possibility.

A final version of iOS 7 should also be debuted at the event, and while one mustn't forget the possibility of an Apple iWatch, we'll have to wait and see exactly what the folks at Cupertino have in store for us.
