Apple iPad event scheduled for October 22

Teaser
During this invitation-only special event the Cupertino company is expected to show updated iPads, the new Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks.

The new iPhones are still really fresh but Apple has more products ready to show up before the end of this year. According to various sources quoted by AllThingsD, the Cupertino company will hold a special event on Tuesday, October 22. The main topics covered during this gathering will be the new iPads, OS X Mavericks, as well as the new Mac Pro.

The iPad 5 is expected to feature an improved camera and Apple's new A7 chip, next to a lighter and thinner design. The second generation of the iPad mini will get Retina display and could also receive a processor upgrade. Another feature that could be added to both the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 is the Touch ID fingerprint sensor but this is less likely to happen at this time.

AllThingsD's sources declined to reveal the location of this upcoming event, but the California Theatre in San Jose may not be used once again as the iPad mini was unveiled there back in 2012. The two most likely locations are Apple's Town Hall Auditorium in Cupertino and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

On October 22 Nokia will also hold a special event dubbed Innovation Reinvented where it is expected to unveil a total of six devices.
