Apple iPad Mini 2021: Finally a fresh design for Apple's smallest tablet
Apple's tablets aren't affordable, but at this point they almost have no competitors in some areas. For example, for those who are looking for a powerful tablet with an 8-inch screen, the iPad Mini is almost the only choice.
It is good that Apple has completely overhauled the tablet in its 6th generation, giving it a new design that is oriented on the iPad Pro and iPad Air and otherwise also fits well into Apple's current product line up. The compact tablet now looks much more modern, with its bezels only large enough to hold it comfortably while still offering as much screen real estate as possible in a compact design.
As usual, the Apple tablet offers high-quality workmanship. However, pressure on the screen is quickly reflected in the liquid crystal.
The support for the Apple Pencil 2 and a magnetic holder that allows charging it on the tablet are also new features. You can take notes and do some creative work using the pen just as easily as on the larger Apple tablets.
The Californian manufacturer has also equipped the Apple iPad Mini 6 with its most current processor, the Apple A15 Bionic. Even though there continues to be a performance difference to the iPad Pro, which is equipped with Apple's M1 processor since this year, the iPad Mini is again a very fast tablet that easily surpasses the Android competitors in 2021.
While the screen offers an unusual format, it again shows powerful colors and is very sharp.
Since the battery life and speakers also continue to be convincing, we really like the Apple iPad Mini 6. However, we also have some complaints. Find out what those are in our detailed review of the Apple iPad Mini 6.
