The long-awaited refresh for the Apple TV finally made its debut today.

Apple had its Hey Siri event on Wednesday and among the big announcements was a new Apple TV. The long wait may have been worth it, as there are many new features coming with the set top box. Apple has set out to create a one-stop-shop kind of experience for their device, showing users all of the different services playing a certain show or movie. Netflix, Hulu, iTunes, and a few other services are partnered with Apple to allow their programming to be included.

Siri integration is also making its appearance with the latest Apple TV, and just by pressing a button one can ask Siri to find action films, search for shows with specific actors, and many other variations. The remote supports motion controls for games and has a track pad on it for scrubbing through scenes or flipping through movie options. A very important feature of the Apple TV is the existence of an App Store. The box runs on the new TvOS and developers will now be able to create applications for the device, and it will allow users to play games and tailor their experience to their specific needs. Third party developers have always brought incredibly innovative apps to iOS and Mac OS X, so hopefully the same will happen with TvOS.

The new Apple TV will cost $149 for the 32GB version and $199 for the 64GB version. The older set top box is still selling, but for a discounted price of $69. The set top box market has become crowded as of late, and Apple's goal seems to be streamlining how we watch TV with an all-in-one media center. The new Apple TV will release in late October.
