Aorus X7 v6 gaming notebook to ship with a QHD 120 Hz display

If you want a thin and portable gaming notebook with as few sacrifices as possible, then the Aorus series will likely be near the top of your list. The manufacturer has continued to iterate on its notebook design with more and more features including Thunderbolt 3, NVMe, individually-lit RGB keys, and G-Sync with the latest generation bringing both Pascal and 120 Hz display options not unlike the recently refreshed MSI GS73VR.

The first refresh is the 15.6-inch Aorus X5 v6 that can now be configured with a GTX 1070 GPU and the uncommon WQHD+ (2880 x 1620) resolution IPS display. Alternatively, users can configure the system with a FHD 120 Hz panel instead. This latter option may be more lucrative as the panel will likely bring faster response times if it happens to be the same panel utilized by some newer MSI G series notebooks.

The second refresh is the 17.3-inch X7 v6 with the same GTX 1070, but with different display options. Users can choose between a more standard FHD IPS panel or a QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate not unlike some newer Eurocom systems.

Prices for the X5 v6 and X7 v6 both start at $2400 USD. We recommend reading up on our existing reviews on the X5 and X7 since this latest refresh includes no major changes to the chassis design.
