Android will get past iOS in 6 months, says Mr. Smith from Google
According to Eric Schmidt, Google Executive Chairman, the Smartphones that run on the Android Operating Systems are now edging ahead of Apple’s iPhone in terms of popularity and appeal to consumers and designers.
He also added that the Android-based smartphones and tablets are gaining an advantage due to a number of reasons as cheaper device price, the array of network providers on board and the sheer number of handsets in production.
Schmidt also believes the developers and the programmers tend to focus more on the Apple iOS than the Android but this will soon change. As he predicted that in the next six months this transformation can be seen adding the fact that the Android is ramping up its threat with the latest Ice Cream Sandwich.
He addressed all these while he was present at the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus device, which runs on Ice Cream Sandwich.
Schmidt also mentioned that as application vendors are mainly driven by volume and Google has favored it with its open approach. Hence it has led to so many manufacturers working so hard to distribute Android phones globally.
