Currently crowdfunding via Kickstarter, the Aivela Ring Pro Smart is made of titanium and weighs approximately 3.6 grams. It comes in four color variants. A dark, diamond-shaped window on the top houses the OFN (Optical Finger Navigation) sensor, which is used to operate the ring. IP68 certification means that the device should be dust and waterproof.
Health functions with app integration
The sensory equipment advertised includes modules for sleep analysis, heart rate monitoring, heart rate variability measurement and blood oxygen saturation. This is supplemented by activity data such as steps, calories burned and distance traveled. The data is compiled in an app for iOS and Android and can be synchronized with Apple Health, Google Fit and Strava. According to Kickstarter, the raw data is also analyzed by AI algorithms in order to detect trends and provide personalized alerts.
Gesture control as a special feature
In addition to classic touch gestures such as swiping and tapping, the ring also detects movements in the air. Users can link these gestures to actions such as controlling music playback or triggering the smartphone camera. This is supposed to expand the range of functions beyond pure fitness tracking.
Market position
The market for smart rings is growing noticeably. Models like the Oura Ring or the announced Samsung Galaxy Ring primarily focus on health and fitness functions, but some require additional fees. The Aivela Ring Pro Smart Ring, with gesture control and no follow-up costs, is positioned as an alternative aimed at tech-savvy consumers.
Price and availability
The Aivela Ring Pro Smart Ring currently has a pre-order price of $149, which includes shipping, taxes and customs duties. The later regular retail price is set at $299. Delivery is scheduled to begin in November 2025. As this is a crowdfunding campaign, there is a certain degree of risk. For example, the project could be delayed, subject to changes or may not come as advertised.
