Full HD Premium. Acer attracts a lot of office users with its conservative, yet solid and powerful notebooks. Usually, the price-performance ratio is just right, but for this to be true for our test model, which uses the Intel Core i3-4005U and a Full HD display, the price would have to drop quite a lot.

Featuring a functional design that houses a good number of port options, coupled with business focused management software, the TravelMate P256-M is a solid choice for any small to medium business looking for a desktop replacement. However, its rather bulky size, heavy weight, slow trackpad and slightly dull display hamper its usability as a mobile workstation and make it feel like it works as a laptop in name only.

The Acer TravelMate P256-M isn’t very glamourous, but it’s a well-made workhorse laptop with good battery life, enough performance and almost all the ports you’re ever likely to need. It’s a shame the keyboard isn't better, but it's still a good fit for businesses looking to make a mass replacement of old desktops as well as for students and home users on a budget.
