CES 2012 | Acer Aspire S5 Ultrabook to be "world's thinnest"

Teaser
New Ultrabook announced by Acer ahead of CES 2012

Acer was one of the first notebook manufacturers to release an Ultrabook with their Aspire S3, and the company is now adding another Ultrabook to their lineup with the new Aspire S5.

Dubbed by Acer as the “world’s thinnest Ultrabook”, the S5 was announced ahead of Tuesday’s start of CES 2012 and comes in at only 15mm and 1.35kg (less than 3 lbs). The 13.3” laptop is made from a magnesium-alloy cover and features an unknown Intel processor along with Acer Always Connect which allows users to access data from other devices even when the laptop is sleeping. In addition, the laptop features USB 3.0, HDMI, and Thunderbolt ports that hide behind a unique “MagicFlip” panel.

Unfortunately, the current info on the S5 is sparse, but it is expected to ship in Q2 2012 and should be further detailed at CES in the upcoming days.
