Archive.org versionFor all its strengths, I’m afraid the answer has to be no. The Aspire One Cloudbook 14 may be cheap, it may have great battery life and a pleasing overall design, but its inadequate processor makes the laptop a chore to use.

Archive.org versionStill, you need to make some allowances when you're only spending £150, and the Acer Aspire One Cloudbook 14 certainly puts forward a compelling case when you compare it side by side with Dell's Inspiron 11. The Cloudbook 14 also has the edge over the Toshiba Satellite C40-C, as it manages to match the C40-C's build quality and battery life while also costing £50 less - and that's before you add in the extra value provided by a year's free subscription to Office 365 Personal and the 1TB OneDrive storage.

The Cloudbook 14 successfully leverages cloud and online services for day-to-day use, though its modest feature set and overall performance are commensurate with its low price tag. The Dell Inspiron 17 5000 Series Non-Touch has a larger screen, better performance, and is ultimately a lot more PC for a list price that's $200 higher. As such, it remains our Editors' Choice for budget desktop-replacement laptops.

It comes with too many compromises to recommend it. The performance will frustrate anyone who wants to multi-task. The keyboard and trackpad make office use difficult.

They get louder than we expected, but they deliver subpar clarity and minimal bass. Given their location on the bottom of the chassis, the Cloudbook 14 relies on a solid surface off of which to project sound; placing it on a soft surface like a bed or your lap greatly reduces the impact of the audio output.

Acer Aspire One Cloudbook 11 AO1-131-C1G9
The Cloudbook is Window's answer to Google's Chromebook, which has been stealing away Windows user with its simple and budget-friendly device on Chrome OS. In order to compete with the latter, the Acer Aspire One Cloudbook 11 has been unveiled and is set to be a tough competitor with its low price point and added features. Coined to be an 'online-oriented' netbook, this 11.6” Cloudbook 11 comes pre-installed with Windows 10 Home along with a one-year subscription to Office 365 and a total of 1 TB OneDrive storage. To reinforce its concept, Acer included in its ‘Build Your Own Cloud’ applications as well, allowing private and secure synchronization across devices. The upside of this model is that it can run full versions of Microsoft Office and unlike Chromebooks, it can extract and install all programs which are executable in Windows. Thus, users will not be mainly tied to browser usage only and this model is pleasant for Internet surfing, video streaming, light gaming and minor work-related usages. However, due to its lack of capability performance-wise, users will not be able to use demanding programs for video or graphics editing and high-end gaming. Besides, the lack of a DVD drive and the small storage space of 32 GB, the amount of programs will be very limited, whereas this issue does not arise in Chromebooks as most of its storage is online. Archive.org versionThe Acer Aspire One Cloudbook 11 has an official price of Rs. 20,999 but you can find it at online stores for Rs. 14,990. At this price, the Cloudbook 11 is a good option for someone looking for a highly portable or affordable Windows 10 machine. It offers similar functionality to what netbooks used to. It's lightweight, relatively well built, has a good trackpad, handles 4K video playback, and you get free cloud storage (for a limited time). The screen is good enough for working on office documents, catching up on a movie or surfing the Web. Do keep in mind that local storage is extremely limited so you can't treat this like any other laptop. Performance is also a bit sluggish, so as long as you stick to the basics, you should be fine.

It boots pretty quickly and can run just about any app designed for Windows. You can use it to edit documents, watch videos, play casual games, surf the web, or most other common PC tasks.

Acer: In 1976, the company was founded in Taiwan under the name Multitech and was renamed Acer or Acer Group in 1987. The product range includes, for example, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitors, TVs and computer peripherals. Since 2007, the group has merged with Gateway Inc. and Packard Bell, which also market their own laptop product lines.
Acer computers are designed for a variety of purposes, including ultrabooks for mobile use, gaming laptops for gamers, affordable options for everyday tasks, and 2-in-1 convertible laptops for versatility. Acer's product portfolio also includes tablets that offer portable computing and multimedia capabilities.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
Intel HD Graphics (Braswell): Integrated graphics card in the Intel Braswell series (Celeron and Pentium) processors. Based on the Broadwell architecture (Intel Gen8) supporting DirectX 11.2. Depending on the processor offers 12 or 16 shader cores (EU) and different clock speed.

14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
