AMD confirms Radeon RX 5700, RX 5700 XT & RX 5700 XT Anniversary pricing; undercuts NVIDIA
Great news, AMD has confirmed the pricing of its RX 5700 series, and it has dropped MSRPs across the board in response to NVIDIA. The company in green unleashed its RTX 20 SUPER series earlier this week, with the RTX 2060 SUPER starting at US$399. Now, AMD has gone one better.
Originally posted by Videocardz, AMD has since taken to social media and confirmed that the RX 5700 series will start at US$349, with the RX 5700 XT Anniversary Edition costing US$100 more at US$449. Meanwhile, the RX 5700 XT bridges the gap at US$399. This puts the RX 5700 series between the RTX 2060 SUPER and RTX 2070 SUPER cards.
AMD has been rather blatant with its pre-release price cut too and has stated the following as you can see below:
We embrace competition, which drives innovation to the benefit of gamers. In that spirit, we are updating the pricing of our Radeon RX 5700 Series graphics card.
Clearly, NVIDIA had AMD worried, but the latter has already tried to see the former off at the pass. The ball is in your court, NVIDIA. The question remains though, has AMD gone far enough to persuade people away from the RTX 20 SUPER series? Let us know in the comments.
