An earlier leak revealed two new AMD Zen 5 CPUs, the Ryzen 5 9500F and Ryzen 7 9700F. AMD has been increasingly launching iGPU-less F-branded GPUs to distinguish them from their X and non-X counterparts. Both CPUs will serve as lower-cost alternatives, with AMD tagging the Ryzen 5 9500F as "Start Your Gaming Journey Here."
AMD already launched the Ryzen 5 9500F in China, but refused to divulge its price. The CPU comes with six Zen 6 cores (12 threads) with a base clock of 3.8 GHz and a single-core boost clock of up to 5.0 GHz, effectively making it slightly slower than the Ryzen 5 9600X which has a base/boost clock of 3.8/5.2 GHz. Other specs, such as 32 MB of L3 cache and a 65 Watt TDP are identical across both SKUs.
The Ryzen 7 9700F is practically identical to the Ryzen 7 9700X with base and boost clocks of 3.8 GHz and 5.5 GHz, respectively. Both chips support up to 192 GB of DDR5 RAM and come with 24 usable PCIe Gen5 lanes. They will work on all mainstream AM5 motherboards such as A620, X670E, X670, B650E, B650, X870E, X870, B840, and B850. Unfortunately, AMD hasn't disclosed the price and availability of either model, but if the aforementioned leak is accurate, the Ryzen 5 9500F should cost around $218 and the Ryzen 7 9700F around $294.
